[bpsdb] It's close to becoming a truism now that every unusual event is immediately greeted with a chorus of conspiracy theories, and Swine Flu is no exception. If you want to see some extremely impressive analysis of the situation, then you should head on over to the guys at Effect Measure, who are putting the mainstream media to shame. But the people I'm about to present to you have a rather different take.
As an example of just how different this take is, the title of the piece I'm about to quote is "It is Time to Shoot Back."
When they start coming for you this time it will be time to shoot back.

This time they will be coming for your guns and they will be there to insure that if you refuse to be vaccinated or the vaccine doesn't kill you, they will.

assuming anyone will fight, beyond a few tired old men.
So as far as I can make out, the flu is a man-made disease that the U.S. government have created, in Mexico, in order to scare people, in the U.S., into taking a vaccine, which will then do nasty things like kill or damage the brain or otherwise taint their precious bodily fluids.
Things become clearer when we look at the source for some of his other articles, which is the ever-amusing rense.com (a bit like whale.to but with worse graphics). One of their pieces is particularly enlightening:

The WHO "Pandemic Control Room" is a creation of the Illuminati elite for the final "end-game" killer virus mapping and tracking, and is thus equipped with super-computers tied to all U.N. member government's security forces. This means that all Americans must consent to mass vaccinations, or be guilty of a FELONY crime (without a TRIAL, mind you!). And why a FELONY and not a mere 'misdemeanor'? Simple. Police agencies know that the use of "DEADLY FORCE" is only approved for felony suspects when they resist arrest. Refuse the government's untested, untried, highly suspect "MADE IN CHINA" vaccine, and you will instantly be labelled a felonious criminal. So, refuse the forced vaccine, and then resist forced relocation to a prepared "quarantine compound" (i.e. concentration/re-education camp) and you can "legally" be shot and killed. (Justified "deadly force".)
No, no, don't laugh, there is one pretty solid piece of evidence backing this up:
Obama makes an official visit to Mexico, and a short week later, Mexico City schools, Universities, and all PUBLIC BUILDINGS are shut down in pandemic fear -- (for the first time since the devastating 1985 earthquake!) Again, is this just a bizarre co-incidence??
After all, who better to carry out a secret act of biological warfare on a neighbouring country than the president during a visit with his entourage of officials and journalists providing a handy cover?

Here in Mexico (or at least in Mexico City), people thought of government conspiracies from the beginning. The funny thing is that, although all conspiracy mongers agree (or "suggest", or "question") that the government is exaggerating the real magnitude of the epidemic and causing public panic for some nefarious purpose, nobody knows which exactly is this nefarious purpose. The most popular hypothesis so far seems to be a link between the "swine flu panic" and the mid-term legislative elections in July.
If you're interested, I can send you some translations (and/or links, if you or some friend of yours can read Spanish) of the most outrageous conspiracy pundits in the very hotspot of the swine flu epidemic.
Oh, and I just remember some comment that the epidemic does not exist because, after all, Barack Obama was in Mexico City a week ago, and the US wouldn't expose their President to a deadly, unknown mutant virus...

There's no vaccination for the common cold either.
To be serious for a moment, flu vaccinations can only target specific strains. As this is a new strain, no vaccination currently exists. One can probably be developed, but it would take time to manufacture millions of doses.
But vaccines aren't everything - people can and will survive swine flu without a vaccine.
Tamiflu is said to be effective against swine flu. Mexico has innoculations that will be effective . There is not enough for the entire country so doctors are distributing them.
Conspiracy wise: I am sick and tired of being afraid of terrorists, hamburger flu, hamburger helper flu, the new great depression, the advent of the whole planet either catching fire or freezing. Or most likely both at once.

while I am suspicious about any possible "vaccinations" that might be offered in the near future for reasons cited above (one shouldn't exist for another 4 months, if it does somebody already knew this would happen), I don't think this is the big one. If there's another, different, disease that takes hold during the summer then I'd start to really get worried.

The simplest explanation, and thus the most likely to be correct, is that neither the Mexican nor the US government knew of the impending epidemic until after President Obama had left Mexico City. The "problem" is, of course, that it demolishes any government conspiracy theory, and that's no fun!
True, Tamiflu should help those with Swine Flu. It's a medicine, not a vaccination, though. It helps you get better when you've got swine flu (allegedly) - it doesn't stop you getting it in the first place, which a vaccination would do.

I think conspiracy theories make good books and entertainment. All in all people die from things daily. I'm not talking a hundred but hundreds and thousands each from something similar or something different daily, cold, flu, cancer, AIDS, car accident, getting hit by a car, drugs... If it was PANDEMIC I think that the rate of people getting sick.."By the Numbers" would be much higher and spread a little bit faster. idk just going with what I call natural judgement.
My conspiracy is that it is a great way to close the Mexican border to make sure no "illegal aliens" come into America. WOW. Simplistic!

Tamiflu is only effective if you take it in the first couple of days (so at the first hint of a sniffle and before you've got a fever).
there is already some anecdotal evidence coming from Mexico of drug ineffectiveness.
It also can have some pretty severe psychiatric side-effects, so people might well be a little wary of taking it.
The mexicans don't have a vaccine yet, nobody does, also there's no simple blood-test for it. All of the confirmed cases are by PCR from the viral DNA.
A vaccine could possibly be commercially available in a couple of months if everything runs like clockwork and it can be produced using the same methods that have been pre-approved by the regulators for making a pandemic bird-flu vaccine (it should be able to be, but you can never be 100% certain).
what about perhaps....who works most of the manual labor in our states? bus boys? delivery boys? grass cutters? deli/grocery store workers? mexicans!...perhaps an idea is that our own government has created this virus and sent it out to mexico waiting for it to spread here and then find a way to ban all mexicans from working illegally and not allow any tresspassing into the country....job stimulus increases. more work more tax money comes back...but this is only an idea possibly wrong most likly wrong.

These conspiracy theories are wildly entertaining. These guys really have nothing else better to do with their time? I have a feeling the "swine flu paranoia" is just another SARS freak out. The media's over-coverage of the swine would make a foreigner think the black plague was unleashed on America. Some fool guys say this virus is an illuminaty conspiracy.
Swine flu can not be for population control. It would be the worst and more inefficient way to kill people in history, only 10 deaths in 2 weeks, in the whole world. If a government wanted to kill people, it would be much easier just to spill some arsenic in a lake or just to spread in the air, from a plane, strains of small pox virus over some big cities (and they would save millions in laboratory research to develop an almost harmless virus).
Conspirators must be smart enough to develop a more deadly weapon than this innocent swine flu.
Everybody is missing the point - it's not about the illness - it's about the Governments and media. This, Bird Flu and Terrorism are just the current methods by which Governments see how much control they can wield over the media and by extension populations. Read 1984 or Fahrenheit 451 or look at what went on in Germany in the late 20's/early 30's.
Soon, these 'emergencies' will begin to merge together and we will be bombarded more and more by these 'false emergencies'. Just as with terrorism we will give up freedom after freedom. Governments will take more control, Maybe it's because they know we are running out of water, maybe because they know of a meteor that will hit the planet in 100 years, but in any event, when you look at the fact the media is happy to give this hyper coverage for a couple dozen mild flu victims at most in each western country, it is obvious that this is yet more training for the day when Governments decide to take all our freedoms away, and they are trying to do it in such a way that we will give them away gladly.

Yes, you are right about conspiracy in tourism by spreading virus like swine flue but i think every posts are aware about that and have sufficient protection. Peoples also should have personal protection and policies and this seems very important to me as like as life protection by life insurance.
